Introduction to items

Summary

Items are products or services that the company uses in its business. These may be manufactured and/or sold and/or purchased. The item contains inventory information (unit of measure, SKU, unit cost, unit weight, etc.). If it is manufactured, it also contains the production recipes.


The item's production recipes can then be used to create items to be produced in the table.

 Create an item

  1. To create an item, navigate to Items tab, then click on Create Item.



  1. Fill out the form to create the article. The Manufactured field determines if the item has production recipes. It is always possible to modify it later.





  1. Fill in the other fields if desired.




  1. If the item is Manufactured, it will be required to select a step in the table at which this item will be produced.


 Create a production recipe

  1. By default, the production recipe will have the same name, part number and revision as the item. Several different production recipes can be created for the same item.



  2. You can choose a preferred production from the drop-down list by clicking on the star.




  3. Production recipes contain the same fields and sections as the items. The items created from the production recipes will already be filled in by the recipes.














 Create an item from a production recipe

  1. To create an item from an item, go to the Planning - Projects - Items tab and click on create from template  .



  1. Once the form is opened, select production order items, then select the production recipe from the list.



  1. The item is now created. It will have the same information as the production recipe of the item.
