Context
This update brings several improvements in sales and invoicing module and also some minor fixes.
News
✯ Improved sales and customer invoicing
- A major overhaul of customer invoicing has been acheived to improve performance, presentation of information as well as to enable partial invoicing capability.
- First of all, the changes in the project sales grid:
- Display project statuses at the top of the sales grid for a quick understanding of your project state.
- Display of the quantity invoiced and shipped on each of the sales lines with a color code to quickly identify the remaining elements to be processed to be able to close your project.
- The invoicing function is now accessible directly from the project, but also available through the invoicing grid as usual.
- The billing popup has been simplified to request only the necessary information that is now in the main project page such as customer and billing address. If this information is missing, billing will not be possible. In addition, even if accounting integration is enabled, it is now possible to save invoices without transferring them to the accounting system in case they have already been recorded manually, for example.
- To review the invoice information, simply click on the invoiced quantity and a window with the detail will appear.
- Through this editing screen, it is also possible to reduce the quantity invoiced to do partial invoicing or to remove a line from an invoice completely. The quantity invoiced may not exceed the quantity ordered.
- The billing grid behaves practically as before with the following exceptions:
- Now a customer and a billing address are still required to invoice a project's sales lines. Eventually this information will become mandatory as soon as it is entered for projects representing sales orders.
- Partially invoiced lines will look different from fully invoiced lines and it will be possible to click "Add" to create an invoice or add them to an existing invoice.
- The "Remove" button has been replaced by an "Edit" button and brings to the same invoice management popup screen as in project sales grid. Again, it is possible to remove lines from an invoice with the "x" with this popup.
✯ Other minor improvement(s)
- The function to change taxes on several project sales lines is now accessible though a button.
- A cancelled purchase order can no longer be transferred to Zoho Books to generate a vendor invoice.
Corrections
✯ Fixed an issue that prevented WooCommerce order transfer when the currency code was too long.
✯ Fixed an issue that prevented a purchase order from being closed when the associated inventories were in the "completed" status.
