Planning module

Summary

Inventory management is necessary to fulfill sales orders. You can set up manual reorder point by item. The planning module gives you inventory recommandation to produce or order. You can take actions on recommandation directly in the planning module.


 Inventory status and recommandation

    1. Configure the default planning horizon

  1. Go to Settings -> Configurations -> Project.

  2. Enter the number of day you want to plan by default.


It is the number of calendar days, not the business days.

    2. Explaining the planning module

  1. Go to Planning  ->  Planning.

    1. Select the scope.

    2. If needed, change the planning horizon. If you do not change the planning horizon, it will be the number set up by default.



  2. Items are ordered according to recommandation. Item to order or manufacture are at the top of the liste, then you will find the item to monitor and at the end is the item with enough inventory. Recommandations are based on manual reorder point set up in by items.

    1. On hand is the total in inventory.

    2. Demand is quantity on sales order or planned consumption. 

    3. Available = On hand - Demand.

    4. On order is quantity in purchase order or in planned production.

    5. Net flow = Available + On order - Demand.

    6. Recommandation for item under the Reorder Point = Maximum Stock Level - Net Flow.
      Recommandation for item over the Reorder Point is 0.



  3. By clicking on the chevron, you will see a summary of planned consumption, planned production and purchase order.



 Actions on recommandation

    1. Create a purchase order.

  1. Select one or more item to order.

  2. Click on "Create purchase orders" button.



    1. Select the vendor. By default, vendors set up in the item will be presented, but it is possible to select any other vendors. The vendor selected will appear in yellow.
      If more than one item is order at the same vendor, they will be on the same purchase order. If all items are order at different vendors, different purchase order will be created.

    2. Click on "Next" button. 

    3. Confirm the preview and create the purchase orders by pressing the "Create" button.



    2. Create a production card

  1. Select the item to manufacture.

  2. Click on "Create manufacturing order" button.



    1. Select the project

    2. Select the production receipe.

    3. Enter batch size.

    4. Enter latest due date. By default, current day is selected.

    5. Click on "Next" Button.



    6. Confirm the preview by clicking the "Confirm" button.
